Description

Emergency Water Purification System Granular calcium hypochlorite

This is 70% granular calcium hypochlorite with no stabilizers or fillers. It is not chlorine dioxide. Moreover, FEMA recommends calcium hypochlorite specifically for water disinfection. Therefore, use it for emergency water treatment only.

What’s the other 30%:
Manufacturers expose calcium carbonate to chlorine gas from salt electrolysis. Industry batches range 50–73% active. Consequently, the remainder is mostly unreacted calcium carbonate plus trace sodium. In short, you get a consistent, dependable disinfectant.

Why choose 70%:
The 70% concentration balances strength, price, and availability. Higher percentages cost more and are harder to find. Additionally, 70% mixes easily for household dosing. Therefore, it’s ideal for preppers, campers, and disaster kits.

Why calcium hypochlorite:
It’s FEMA-recommended, cost-effective, and easy to dose. Unlike liquid bleach, it stores indefinitely when kept cool and dry. Furthermore, it ships compactly and makes powerful disinfecting solutions on demand.

Storage and safety:
Store in a dry, cool place away from sunlight and heat. Chlorine gas is corrosive. Therefore, avoid enclosed spaces with metals, electronics, chemicals, or food. Additionally, keep the lid tight and follow label directions.

Packaging details:
You receive 1 lb of 70% granules in a new 16 oz HDPE jar. It includes an induction seal, screw lid, and waterproof instructions. Moreover, everything is enclosed in a heat-sealed Mylar/aluminum pouch for longevity.

Readiness and value:
Store properly and expect no expiration date. Unlike bleach, potency doesn’t fade yearly. One pound treats about 10,000 gallons of clear water or 5,000 gallons if cloudy. Consequently, it’s a great long-term value.

Sanitizing solution: Emergency Water Purification System Granular calcium hypochlorite

One pound also makes 400+ gallons of 200 ppm sanitizer. Instructions appear on the label for clarity. If water smells strongly of chlorine, simply let it dissipate before use. Additionally, always mix in a well-ventilated area.

Label highlight:
Emergency/Survival Water Treatment/Disinfectant. Contents treat

Directions for use:

  1. Dissolve 1 Teaspoon (5.5 grams) into 1 Gallon of Water to make a stock chlorine solution (about 1000 ppm) – store in airtight container & discard solution after 1 month as it will gradually lose potency (do not drink this solution!)
  2. To Treat Drinking water – add 1.5 oz (3Tbsp.) of stock chlorine solution to each gallon of water being treated (about 12 ppm) Allow mixture to sit for ½ hour before use
  3. To use for Sanitizing – add 1 Quart stock chlorine solution to 1 Gallon of Water (1:4 Mix) for a 200ppm sanitizing solution

Warning: Keep out of reach of Children
